Files

note

Datasets can contain at most 1600 columns.

Upload Files

Uploading a file is the easiest way to get started and is a better option when working with small, static, or one-off datasets.

DataChat supports the following file types:

  • Comma-separated values (.csv)
  • Tab-separated values (.tsv)
  • Excel (.xlsx)
  • JavaScript Object Notation (.json)
  • ZIP archives (.zip)
  • TAR archives (.tar)

There are two main ways to upload a file:

From the Settings Menu

note

Uploading a file from the Settings menu does not automatically load that file's data into a session. After you've uploaded your files, refer to the Load Data Into a Session to start using that data in a session.

  1. Click Settings.
  2. Click My Files.
  3. Click the Upload button. upload button
  4. Either drag and drop your file or click Browse to select the file. upload a file

From the Load Button

You can use the Upload a new file button in the Load Data form to upload a file to DataChat and load it into your session in just a few clicks:

  1. Click the Load button to open the Load Data form.
  2. Click the Upload a new file button to open your machine's file browser.
  3. Select the file you want to upload.
  4. Click Submit to upload the file to DataChat and load it into your session.

Loading data from Google Drive also uploads those files to DataChat, so you can easily load them again in other sessions.

You can allow DataChat to load data from your Google Drive by authenticating it with Google and then loading data from the Google Drive URL.
