Configure Settings
Before you get started, we recommend configuring some key settings.
Session Settings
To open the the Settings menu, click the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
On the Sessions page, you can configure the following session-specific settings.
Set default mode
Choose which mode a new session opens in. By default, new sessions open in Grid mode.
Automatically adjust the width for each column
Click this toggle "Off" to prevent dataset columns from automatically being sized to fit the full width of their contents. By default, this toggle is "On".
Automatically minimize outputs in Notebook mode
Click this toggle "On" to minimize the output to the Notebook mode display panel, such as tables and charts, except for the three most recent outputs. When you open an existing session, the fully expanded outputs appear in the display panel of Notebook mode. This speeds up load times and allows you to better manage the outputs of your session. By default, this toggle is "Off", opening a new session displays all outputs.
Automatically enlarge charts and some tables in Grid mode
Click this toggle "On" to show a popup in Grid mode of all charts and some tables. When you close the popup, the chart or table is shown in the chart history. By default, this toggle is "On".
Show GEL input field in Grid mode
Click this toggle "On" to display the GEL input field in Grid mode. By default, this toggle is "Off", typing in the GEL input field is unavailable.
Show sample of current dataset
Click this toggle "On" to display a popup that shows a sample of the current dataset when you type in the Notebook mode GEL input field. By default, this toggle is "Off", typing in the GEL input field does not display a popup.
Show data recommendations when starting a session
Click this toggle "On" to display recommendations for data to load in a session, based on your past usage. By default, this toggle is "On".
Skill Timeout
Configure how long (in minutes) a skill can run before the user is prompted to interrupt the skill or extend the amount of time given. By default, this timeout is disabled, so all skills run to completion.
LLM Credentials
To open the the Settings menu, click the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
On the LLM Credentials page, you can create and manage credentials used in Ask.
Create New Credentials
To create new credentials, click New, then:
- Open AI
- Azure
- Select Open AI
- Fill out the Connection name, API Key, and Organization fields.
- Click Submit.
- Select Azure
- Fill out the Connection name, API Key, and Resource fields.
- Optionally, enter an Organization name.
- Select either davinci or gpt-4 for the Model.
- Enter the Deployment ID.
- Click Submit.
Set Active Credentials
You can set your active credential by simply clicking the credential you'd like to use and selecting Yes:
Delete Credentials
You can delete credentials by clicking the trash icon next to the credential you'd like to delete:
User Profile Settings
You can open the user profile settings by clicking the user icon in the upper-right corner.
Set Profile Avatar
By default, your profile avatar is the first letter of your name. To change your avatar, in the top right corner of the header:
- Click your avatar icon.
- Click the camera button.
- Select a new profile image from your local files.
Change Username
You can change your username by clicking your name under your avatar and entering a new name.
